About Jennifer

Jennifer Brickett is the Director of the BATIC Institute: An AASHTO Center for Excellence. Under Jennifer's leadership, the BATIC Institute builds capacity within state departments of transportation in analyzing, understanding, and using transportation finance techniques. Since its inception in 2015, the BATIC Institute has educated transportation professionals in all 50 states plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico, helping build technical skills and connecting transportation decision makers to share best practices and ideas. Jennifer also supports AASHTO's Committee on Funding and Finance in providing expertise and leadership on federal and state transportation funding and finance issues. Prior to her current role, Jennifer served as a Senior Program Manager for Environment at AASHTO where she supported the association's environmental policy work. Before her time at AASHTO, Jennifer served as a transportation consultant with ICF International from 2005-2012. Jennifer has an M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Policy from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Environmental Economics from Colgate University.

About Alex

Alex Clegg serves as a Program Specialist with the BATIC Institute. Prior to working with the BATIC Institute, Alex was a WaterCorps Fellow at the University of North Carolina Environmental Finance Center, where he provided financial planning and technical assistance to rural water and wastewater utilities. He has also served as an intern with the Coalition for Smarter Growth and Boundary Stone Partners. In 2015, Alex completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina with majors in Environmental Studies and Economics, as well as a minor in City and Regional Planning.
